Hubby planted this Israeli Sunflower in our garden months ago and when it bloomed it attracted bumblebees, butterflies and neon grasshoppers. The children and I enjoyed getting a close up view of these beautiful insects while they happily rested on our flower, quite oblivious to us.
It was very tall compared to the children. As you can see in the above photo.
Sadly enough we did not get any edible sunflower seeds from this flower. I don’t know what we need to do for that to happen…
We pulled this sunflower out when it dried up and have since planted some gladiola bulbs in it’s place. These have just started to blossom and are gorgeous.
